“Reading is the gateway to all other content areas,” says Jolee Healey, DISD Executive Director “In upper grades, they are reading to learn.”
YOU CAN MAKE A CHANGE

IN THE LIFE

OF ONE CHILDTODAY

Join us today and impact their tomorrow.
We need volunteers who can spend up to an
hour a week with students as elementary
literacy tutors.

Why we need your help!

Children who have not been able to master academic skills at the same rate as their classmates experience substantial decreases in their self-esteem and motivation to learn.[i]

By working one-on-one with you, students will improve their academic achievement, confidence, and motivation. No experience is required to become a tutor. Dallas ISD will provide the training, materials, and support you need to help guide a student to success.
